This article applies to all Philips Smart TVs except Google TV. The “BBC News” and “BBC Sports” apps either are missing or a deprecation message pops up on the screen while attempting to launch them. BBC decided to discontinue these apps by March 2020 and integrate their content into the BBC iPlayer app.

BBC Sport is part of the bbc.co.uk website run by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). It covers all sports from football and rugby to less high-profile sports such as hockey or badminton.

The BBC Sport app offers in-depth results, analysis, live scores, match stats and text commentaries — keeping you up-to-date with all the action when you're on the go.

It is a large network of websites including such high-profile sites as BBC News and Sport, the on-demand video and radio services branded BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds, the children's sites CBBC and CBeebies, and learning services such as Bitesize and Own It.
